Cooma Railway Station, NSW.

Currently the Station Precinct is used by a Heritage Railway Group. The above Photos were taken on the 9th of December 2014. We were traveling from Yass to Bega and decided to stay at Cooma for a week. March 31st Update.

Good morning, Today is Sunday, March the 31st, 2019. This is an update on where we are with Newsletters and the progress we have made with the Public. Planning is in place for Newsletter number 13 for July 2020 Newsletter number 6 is being created now and will be complete all going well, on May the 21st, 2019. When this is complete I will have covered 78 Stations from 5 different States Of Australia. The Newsletter/Blog Page seems to have been well received by the Public, if the Number of Visitors is anything to go by. The number of Visitors has risen to 9,149. Many Thanks to everybody who has shown an interest in my Newsletter. This Newsletter is a little different to others, as it is not in PDF form. Pinnaroo Railway Station, South Australia.

Good afternoon, Today is Saturday the 30th of March, 2019. This is a write up for the Pinnaroo Railway Station, South Australia. Some of the Information has been sourced from the Book, Pinnaroo-Hub of the Mallee. The Railways arrived in Pinnaroo in 1906. "In1894 the first Parliamentary Bill was introduced for the Tailem Bend to Pinnaroo Railway Line" "On the 17th of November 1901, a Bill was introduced into the House of Assembly to authorise the construction of a railway from Tailem Bend to Pinaroo". Katherine Railway Station ( New) N.T.

Good Morning, Today is Saturday the 30th of March, 2019. Here is a write up about the Katherine Railway Station, ( New one ) visited by myself in August 2015. The line to this Railway Station was opened on the 13th of September 2003. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katherine,_Northern_Territory www.aussietowns.com.au/Katherine-nt   Some more Photos and info Today is the 20th of May 2019.  The Ghan, waiting for a Freight train to pass before continueing on with it's journey. Car Parking area, with the Freight Train in the Background. The Station Building and the Freight Train. According to the 2016 Census, the Population was 6,300. Katherine is 320 Kilometres South East of Darwin, and, is an iportant town for the Cattle industry. Tindal RAAF Base is situated 17 kilometres South East of Katherine. The Katherine Gorge is a famous Tourist destination.

6th Newsletter Update.

Good Morning, Today is Thursday the 28th of March, 2019. This is an update for progress on the 6th Newsletter, due for release on May the 21st 2019. So far the following has been done, Swan Hill Station write up, Victoria. Hunter Railcars Write up. and Bombala Railway Station, NSW. There is another 11 stations to add, and I will be adding two more Special Features. This Newsletter is a different concept in that it is a Newsletter/Blog Page, instead of the normal PDF style Newsletter. I hope you are enjoying what I am putting up for everybody to enjoy. One of the purposes of this Newsletter is to give people the opportunity to see photos of places they have not been to. Bombala Railway station, NSW.

Good morning, Today is Wednesday the 27th of March, 2019. This write up is about the Bombala Railway Station. The Bombala Railway Station is Located South of Cooma, where Railway services ran from the early 1900's till the 80's IIRC. The Station was heritage listed on the 2nd of April 1999. Opened in 1921 and Closed in 1986. The Town of Bombala is 100 kms, or 62 miles from Cooma, in a southerly direction. Hunter Railcars- Special Feature

Good morning, Today is the 25th of March, 2019. This write up will be about the Hunter Railcars/Railmotors.  Photo from Rob Rouse's Collection, Photo taken Yesterday at the Waratah Railway Station. The above Photos were Taken at the Maitland Railway Station, at Steamfest. The first service of these Railcars was on the 23rd of November 2006. 14 Railcars in the Fleet, made into 7 x 2 car sets. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_South_Wales_Hunter_railcar As far as I am aware these Trains travel to Telarah, Scone and Dungog.   THe last 4 Photos were also taken at Steamfest. These Railcars were made to replace the 620 class Railcars. They were fitted with only one motor, as Hi speed was not a requirement. More information is available on the Wikipedia Page.

Good Morning, Today is Sunday the 24th of March, 2019. This will be a write up about the Swan Hill Railway Station. Bluebird Railcars South Australian made.

Hi everybody, This is a Special Feature on the Bluebird Railcars, used in South Australia for many years for Passengers services around the state. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Australian_Railways_Bluebird_railcar 3 of these Railcars were used for the Barossa Wine train until 2003, I believe.  The next lot of Photos have been sourced from John Mason's Website, Johnnys Pages. The wikipedia write up is very informative, with lots of information about the Railcars, where they traveled in the state and what has happened to them since they stopped operating.
