Tocumwal Railway Station, NSW.

 Good Morning,

Here is a story about the above Railway Station.

Strangely, the railway did not arrive at Tocumwal until 1914.

The Post office was opened on the 1st of August 1868.

And, the Railway From Victoria arrived in 1908.

More info and Photos to follow.

Here's a photo from Marcus Wong's collection.
Sourced from the Wikipedia Page.

Another Photo from Murray River Photos.

The Railway Line from Narrandera to Tocumwal was established over many years.

It reached Jerilderie in 1884

Berrigan in 1896.

Finley in 1898.

But it took another 16 years to reach Tocumwal, in 1914.

Looks to me that it may have been a political situation.

More Photos and info to come soon.

The Photos above were taken in April 2006. With a trusty old film Camera.

Today is Sunday the 11th of August.

It is a Type 18 building.

And, according to other write ups is a Rare Building.

Have a Great day Everybody.
