Special feature- Barossa Valley Railway Line.
Good afternoon,
Photo sourced from Wikipedia, taken by Solarence.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
When the Eastlink is completed in Gawler East, B-Doubles will be able to travel between Tanunda and Gawler. it is all part of Stephan Knoll's Plan for Heavy Vehicle Productivity in the Barossa. This is also the reason for the upgrade at Kroemers crossing where a new roundabout will be built in 2020, and 120 metres of the Barossa Railway Line will be ripped up.
This is a write up about the Barossa Valley Railway line which was opened on the 8th of September 1911.
Part of the line from Angaston to Nuriootpa was closed in 2010/2011 and made into a Bike/Waking Trail.
Some more photos,
More info and Photos to follow soon.
The South Australian Transport Minister has failed to advise the people of South Australia that 120 meters of Railway Line is being lifted for the Kroemers crossing Roundabout in Tanunda South Australia.
It is believed that once this vandalism is carried out a train will never run on the line again.
Rail services stopped in June 2015, when the Stonie stopped running.
It is understood, this is what parts of the corridor look like now.
More Info and Photos to be added soon.
These photos were taken on the Roseworthy line I believe. Indicating that the company that is responsible is not doing work to keep the Railway Line Corridors clean to avoid FIRE damage in the future.
The railway was opened to Angaston in 1911 as well.
