Girilambone Railway Station, New South Wales.
Good Afternoon,
Today is Thursday the 27th of August, 2020.
This is a write up on my Visit to the Station on Wednesday the 26th of August 2020.
The above Photo shows a very Important piece of Equipment. It is a gauge for the Wool Bales, so that they would clear the Tunnels on their trip to port.
The Crane in some of the other Photos was there to put the Underground Tank in.
The building to the left in the Photo is to receive some substantial repairs. The site Manager has a plan in place to fix it so it will look as good as new when complete.
Above are a Few Photos Taken Yesterday the 26th of August.
Back in April 2019 I contacted John Holland CRN about Leasing this Station to Restore it and turn it into a Bed and Breakfast Business.
I was advised I need to contact Bogan Shire Council, which I did, and was in Negotiations with the Council to get a Lease, when the NSW Government handed the Bogan Shire Council $1,000,000 from the Drought Relief Fund. As far as I am aware, half was to be spent on the Nyngan Railway Station/Museum, the other half was for the Girilambone Railway Station.
At that time I cancelled My proposal, and as you can see they are doing a good job with the restoration process.
Yesterday was an opportunity to finally get some photos of the Station, and to also find out what they are doing. All the rubbish has been removed, New Floor joist's have been put in, and New brick pillars under the Joist's. New Doors and Windows are to be put in. An Underground Tank was being put in on the day I arrived. Safety fences have been put up on the Loading Platform and the Main Platform.
A couple of carriages are going to be brought on to the site.
I have reported before on this Project in previous Newsletters, stating what the Building/Buildings are going to be used for.
Safety Rails were installed to keep workers Safe, and for the Future will stop people from Falling on to the Railway Lines. These are on the Main Platform and the Loading Platform.
New Windows and Doors are to be installed.
A Safety /Security fence has been installed.
More Photos to follow.
Good Morning,
Today is Friday the 28 th of August, 2020.
Here's some more Photos from Wednesday's Photo Shoot.
Getting ready for the Timber Joist's to be put in.
What a shame that somebody else is now playing copy cat as you got there first before they did.
