Newsletter Update 6-11-2020.
Good Afternoon,
The Official name of this Newsletter/Blog Page is,
'AUSTRALIAN HERITAGE RAILWAY STATIONS AND INFRASTRUCTURE"
Here is some info about our travels in 2014.
These were our wheels in 2014 when we travelled up the Coast of Queensland.
The end of May, beginning of June in 2014, we started on our way by traveling to Landsborough from Brisbane.
We arrived in Landsborough on the 6th of June 2014, staying for 2 weeks.
Our next stop was at Bundaberg.
We stayed at the Elliott heads Caravan Park.
Arrived there on the 27th of June 2014 and left on the 18th of July 2014.
We visited the North Bundaberg Railway Station, where the Bundaberg Railway Museum is Based. Worth a Visit if you are in the area.
The Museum has a lot of Articles on display, and if your staying in Bundaberg, it is worth a Visit, even if it is only for the History of the Railways.
Our next stop was Gracemere, just a little way out of Rockhampton.
No Railway Station was still standing at Gracemere, but we were able to Visit the Archer Park Railway Station.
We arrived in Gracemere on the 18th of July 2014.
And Stayed for one week.
The second time we visited we went for a ride on the Tram above.
The Station/Museum is full of History about the Railways of the Area.
Worth a Visit if you are Visiting Rockhampton.
There is also a Railway Station on display at the Heritage Park.
Located in the Heritage Park at Rockhampton.
The next town we stayed at was Sarina, a Short distance from Makay.
We arrived in Sarina on the 25th of July 2014.
The Tourist information Centre was at the Railway Station, so just looked at the Station and did not Take Photos.
We did a few other things , learning about the History of the Region.
After staying for a week at Sarina, we moved on to Townsville, staying at a Caravan Park about 20 kms out of Town.
The Great Northern Railway, Townsville Railway Station. Photo taken in 1998 I believe.
When we visited the New Railway Station, the Tilt Train was just arriving.
The 7 Photos above were taken while all this was happening.
On the 15th of August 2014 we headed down south again, staying overnight at Sarina, then the next 2 nights at Gracemere so we could go for the Run on the Steam Tram from the Archer Park Railway Station.
On the 18th of August 2014, we traveled from Gracemere to Emerald.
Here's some Photos taken at the Emerald Railway Station.
Good Morning,
Today is Friday the 6th of November, 2020.
Here's some interesting Photographs,
Railmotor/Railcar Number 38.
The Photographs owner has allowed me to use it on this Blog.
Taken at Barraba on the 23rd of August 1972.
It was waiting at the Terminus for it's returned Journey to West Tamworth/Tamworth.
The Railmotor was often referred to as Creamy Cate, Maybe it was painted Cream at one stage.
Photo taken by me, on the Easter weekend, April 2002.
A trip for Dinner at the Walcha Road Pub.
After returning from Queensland, we spent a month at the Central Coast, NSW, then we travelled on to Yass and spent 2 weeks there. While we were there I was able to get Photographs at Yass Town and the Yass Junction.
Between the 2nd of January 2015 and the 9th of January 2015 we stayed at Traralgon in Victoria.
The New Railway Station is part of a Shopping centre.
The old railway station is on the other side of the Railway Lines.
Amazing News, I have actually completed two Railway Station Stories in the last couple of days.
They are,
Temple Court
and
Cobar.
If you would like to read these stories, go to the "More Posts" at the bottom of each Page.
Lots of things happening at the Moment.
Working on my New Blog, which will be live in about 7 or 8 weeks time.
I enjoy creating these stories, so I hope you enjoy reading them and the Photos I put up.
It is great for the people who are not able to travel to these places.
Regards,
Brian Leedham.
Based in the Port Macquarie area of NSW.
HAVE A FANTASTIC DAY EVERYBODY.
